Happy Friday! Now that it's officially spring [as of yesterday!] it seems that I'm much more excited about Fridays + the weekends. Not that I haven't been before now, but something about knowing it's spring and that nice weather will soon be here makes the days off so much better! There isn't much scheduled for my weekend, other than going to my parents and cleaning out my old bedroom, sorting through what I want to keep and what can be donated. Exciting, huh? But I'm sure I'll manage to squeeze something fun in! What are you all up to? I hope it's something fun!

To me there's nothing better than ending a long week with a weekend full of fun activities. Especially when the weekend forecast is warm and sunny. The family is finally getting together to celebrate my mom's birthday [only 3 weeks late!] and my brothers and I decided on a Mexican fiesta. We split the menu which means I'm in charge of the drink, a side, and dessert. So I'll be making this yummy sangria, attempting to duplicate Chipotle's rice and to stay with the theme ... dessert nachos! On top of eating way too much hanging with the fam I'm also planning on a little spring cleaning and switching my closet to my spring wardrobe. Should be a productive but fun weekend.

Is it just me or are Fridays one of the best days? This week has definitely flown by which means I'm ready for a little relaxing. I also plan to do a little antique shopping since the forecast for tomorrow is 57 and sunny [yes!]. Whenever the weather gets warm I start getting the itch to have a few projects going and even though there are a few I've got waiting on me in my parents basement, one more couldn't hurt right? Fingers cross I find something good this weekend! I'll be sure to post any great finds on Instagram (@amandapattison_) so make sure to follow along!

I know that it's winter and it's supposed to be cold [at least in Cincinnati] but I'm 150% over this weather. I wouldn't usually be such a baby about it but seriously? Negative numbers? Not only is that crazy but also, I'm freezing! And I know there are places like the northeast and Chicago that have it way worse than I do but after the last couple of winters being so mild I was definitely not prepared for what mother nature brought this year. Because of that I thought I'd make this weeks 'It's the Weekend!' post as happy and as bright as possible. Especially since the weekend forecast is more snow and I will need something to cheer me up!

Hello, Friday! 

I don't know about you guys but for me this week went by so slow and seemed like the longest week ever. It might be due to the fact that it was my first full week of work in over a month. I almost forgot what a full 5 days felt like! Either way I'm extremely ready for the weekend, sadly mine is only 2 days! Tonight I'm heading north to spend time with the boyfriend, best friend and her husband which is always a guarantee for a few cocktails and lots of laughs. Then on Sunday I'm grabbing lunch with my best guy friend and his partner who are in from NYC. Other than that not a lot planned which means I can catch up on sleep, hang out with family + celebrate my brothers birthday and of course fit in a few fun small projects I've been meaning to tackle. What are you up to? Any fun plans?

Can you believe this is the last weekend of 2013?  I'll be busy with one last holiday party and getting the house ready for the New Years Eve party my girlfriends and I are hosting in honor of a very special + newly engaged couple!

Happy Weekend, Friends! Are you as excited as I am? The way this week was going I felt like I'd never make it to Friday. Luckily here we are and I'm still in one piece. The theme this weekend is be productive. There's a few items on my to-do list [pick out paint colors, print NYE invitations & get them in the mail, clean+organize my closet, edit pictures .... and the list goes on!] that must get completed ASAP and I've given myself until Sunday. Thankfully there are zero plans scheduled for the next two days so I'm thinking that completing the entire list will happen. But I'll be my own worst enemy I'm sure ...

Hey Friends, remember me?
Sorry for the silence this past week. Being away this long was definitely not in the plan but turns out I have been a little busy because MY BROTHER GETS MARRIED TOMORROW! Can you tell I'm excited? I have two older brothers and Cory will be the first so this is a very exciting time for him, myself and my whole family. Having two old brothers meant I'd eventually get a sister and finally, tomorrow is the day! Sara is seriously the cutest and coolest girl and she loves my brother like crazy [and man does he love her] which is the most important thing I could ask for.

So I'm off to celebrate a little love!

Happy Friday, friends!

After a busy week I will be spending this entire weekend relaxing and tackling a few items on my to do list. Which for me, will be the calm before the storm since I am booked solid the next 5 weekends! And that isn't me complaining because it's all things I've been looking forward to: the Ohio State/Wisconsin football game, my brothers wedding, Pumpkin Show, and a college reunion just to name a few! Resting will be key if I'm going to survive it all, fingers crossed I do!

TGIF has never sounded so good! Especially since the weather in Cincinnati is literally perfect, 63 and sunny. This gorgeous weather showed up at just the right time since I'm off to Columbus with my college roommate tomorrow to attend the Country Living Fair. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Saturday than by layering on some fall clothes, putting on my favorite pair of sunnies, sipping a pumpkin spice latte and exploring the fair with one of my best friends. My camera will be in tow so be on the look out next week for snapshots from the weekend. Hello, Friday! I'm so happy you're here!

What are you all up to this weekend?
I'm heading a few hours north of the city to spend the weekend at my grandma's. Mom and I decided to make it a mini girls weekend since my oldest brothers bachelor party is this weekend. So Cory, my dad and other brother Nick will all be gone. It's not too often I get to spend an entire weekend with just mom and grandma so I'm pretty excited for this little retreat.
Not to mention grandma's house is the perfect place for a little R&R since there is no cable or internet, which also means the cell phone will be turned off. And that is fine by me because sometimes you just need a little break from all things technology.

I'll be back Monday but I hope you all have a great weekend!

Can you believe it's already August? This summer is flying by and I plan on soaking up every last bit which is why this weekend is filled with cookouts and pool parties, visitors and Reds games, boozy brunches and late night cocktails, maybe a little gym time and hopefully gorgeous weather so I can make the Sunday morning walk to my local farmers market!
