What To Chose?

This coming Sunday my family will be getting together to celebrate my father's birthday {he's an April Fool}.
My brother and I have planned the menu and are all set.
Except for one detail:
The Dessert!
Since that is my department I usually go for his favorite, sugar cream pie.
His mother made it when he was a child and he's been in love since.
Although I can't make it exactly like my grandmother I've mastered my own technique.
Since it's always been my go to I wanted to shake things up a bit.
Enter: Butterfinger!

Butterfingers have always been one of my father's favorite candies.
But with so many options how do I chose?
That's where I need your help!
I've narrowed it down to my top five {and even have a favorite}.
So if you were me, which would you make?

I'm a huge fan of music.

Can It

I stumbled upon this image while browsing Pinterest and instantly fell in love.
From the crisp white to the pops of color.
One thing that stood out were the fun canisters on the counter.
I love canisters.
They happen to be one of my favorite things to look for while at an antique mall or thrift store.
They can add that perfect amount of fun to any kitchen and can be found in all kinds of color patterns and material.
Although I already have a set for my kitchen these are a few {all found on Etsy!} I wouldn't mind owning:

One - Two - Three - Four - Five - Six

Oh, hi!

Hi Friends!
I feel like it has been so long!
Sorry for my serious case of MIA!
Turns out trying to cover your own work and some one else's while they are on maternity leave takes a toll!
But now that I'm all caught up and fully rested I wanted to share a current obsession of mine:
TRAYS
I have quite a few in my house, each different from the next.
I'm very lucky to have a tray my great-grandfather built using old skids.
Although its original use was as a carrier at the strawberry patch he owned - perfectly fitting 6 little cartons - I've found other uses for it {so has my mother as we have a few}.
Trays are the perfect accessory to any home and add that little touch you just can't get with anything else.

Here's a few I'm loving currently:

Or this one:

 The perfect mix of textures!
Want it for your house?
You can find step-by-step instructions here.

Little Lovelies

image via Pinterest

I don't know about you but now that spring is starting to show its' face I couldn't be more ready to open the house up and let the fresh air in. I've never been a huge fan of decorative trees in the house so I always lean towards flowers.
However, this year I'm itching to fill the house with a few lots of succulents.
Such an easy way to add life and freshness to a home.

What about you?
What's your go to greenery?

Tangerine Tango

This week's Friday's Fancies is all about tangerine tango: the Pantone Color of the Year.
Just this week I purchased my first top in this gorgeous hue and it has left me wanting more.
Since it is such a fabulous color and my closet is a little sparse in this section of the color wheel I know I'll have no problem finding a few more options.

Stop by {Long Distance Loving} to see the rest of the bright and cheery posts.

Happy Friday and I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Country Meets Urban

This week on Houzz there was an article titled Country Style Get An Urbane Update which had me extremely excited to check it out.
Especially after seeing the images above.
I usually lean towards an eclectic look but have always loved the look of a big farmhouse kitchen.
So maybe, I am little Urban Country in my taste ... what catches my eye changes from day to day.
In the article you will find things like why barns were painted red and even how to make your own sliding barn doors.

So what do you think?
Could you see yourself living in an updated barn?
