How was your weekend? I hope you all had the exact same weather we had in Cincinnati because it was gorgeous here! My weekend was the perfect mix of productive and relaxing: read this book, got a few good workouts in, cleaned & did laundry, went antique shopping, spent time on the front porch, and a cookout at my brother and sister in law's. 

Basically a perfect weekend!

And I figured since I've been kinda in and out lately I'd share a few snippets of what's been going on.

Happy Monday! Sorry I disappeared on Friday, I had a busy day and did a little traveling so I could spend the weekend celebrating one of my best friend's [and college roommate!] birthday. We spent Saturday at a spa and I got my first ever massage, which was amazing ... I now see why people get them regularly! Later we went to dinner with friends and family then hit the town. Overall it was such a fun weekend and left me wishing there were more days to the weekend. But I think I wish that every weekend!

I kinda checked out from life last week, sorry! After a few days off work, multiple doctors appointments and a trip to the ER I can finally say that I'm feeling a lot better and there is an end in sight! Woohoo! Since I disappeared I thought I'd share a few snippets of what's been going on [other than bad health]. Not pictured is the fact that I managed to watch both seasons of House of Cards. Can I get season 3, like now? If you haven't watched, I definitely recommend. Just be prepared for it to take over your life, so go ahead and chisel out some time.

If you stop by from time to time you might have noticed it's been a little quiet lately. I mentioned here that I had had surgery and spent a few days in the hospital. Well that same health issue decided to give me a month and half off before it came back. After a trip to the ER and being off work for the last week I'm hoping this time it's gone away for good, fingers crossed!

Besides all that not a lot is going on around here but the rest of this month is shaping up to be a good one and I can't wait!

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that the last few days have been spent wrapping away while enjoying a few of my favorite holiday movies [Elf,  Home Alone, Christmas Vacation], spending some much needed time with friends and family, and of course eating way too much yummy food mixed in with delicious cocktails ... The holidays really are the best!

Hi friends! I feel like it has been forever and well, that's because it has! I'm so sorry for being away for so long. The last month has been a bit of a roller coaster ride due to an unexpected surgery, a few nights in the hospital and 2 weeks of recovery. I'm on the mend, finally back to work and getting back into my old routine. Which is a godsend since I realized I'm not one to lay around and do nothing. Cabin fever definitely set in after about 3 days which lead to watching the whole second season of Nashville, catching up on a few movies that were on my list, finishing two books and starting Eleanor & Park [so good!]. Had I been able to get up and move around I would have been working on the many projects I have piling up! 

But now that I'm back I promise it's for good and I'll never leaving you all hanging like that again!

Well friends, it's safe to say that life got in the way last week and had other plans for me.  It wasn't any thing too serious but I have been resting up and working on getting back to 100%. A huge thank you to my parents for taking care of me. 

And I promise to be a better blogger now that I'm back, I've missed you all dearly!

Sorry for the disappearing act I pulled last week. It was one of those weeks where no matter what I did I just couldn't catch up! I was super busy, had lots of projects, my sleep was completely thrown off and I just felt like a walking zombie! Luckily this past weekend was exactly what I needed and I'm now completely caught up! Which is a good thing since I have another busy week, but this is a fun one since I have a wedding shower and wedding on Saturday to get ready for!

My Best Friends Wedding

Happy Monday!
Sorry for being so quiet last week. I was a little under the weather with a serious head cold + sinus thing. In other words I couldn't breathe and was totally miserable. Lucky for me the weather in Cincinnati was a rainy mess this weekend which was perfect for getting lots of sleep and well, doing absolutely nothing!

Since there hasn't been much happening in my life I thought I'd share a few snapshots from my best friends wedding I mentioned here. I didn't get a lot of shots on my phone but I was able to get a ton on my camera.
I'm hoping to get those up this week so make sure to check back!

Here's what I've been up to lately:

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Do anything fun? Mine was amazing, but it was mostly because I allowed myself to sleep in. Something I never do! Usually I'm up at 8am both Saturday and Sunday making my way to a spin class. But after not feeling 100% all week I thought I could use the weekend off. I think it was deserved, right? So between sleeping in, celebrating a friends birthday and wrapping up a project [will be sharing later this week] I had the best weekend and am ready for whatever comes my way!

Here's to kicking butt this week!

Even though I enjoyed my time away I'm so happy to be back!

Recently

Over Thanksgiving break I spent the majority of my time in my grandmother's kitchen.
And while that is no different than any other trip up north, this year I took a strong liking to my grandmother's china.
She has two beautiful sets but my favorite has to be the china she received as a wedding gift.
White and mint trimmed in gold. Um, gorgeous!
And while I couldn't pack them in my bag for the trip home I did score two major beauties from my absolute favorite local antique mall.
Pretty much obsessed and I'm thinking they'd be perfect for styling a bar cart!
If only I could find a shaker and ice bucket to match ...

Long Time, No See

I can't even begin to describe how terrible I feel for being such a bad blogger lately.
Between being super busy at work and unfortunately feeling a little uninspired I just couldn't come up with material I was happy sharing.
Have any of you ever felt that way? It's definitely not fun and made me sad to be away.
But I'm happy to say I'm feeling 100% again.

So here's a little peek of what was happening during my time away:

Added a fun liner to my vanity. Finally received official business cards after my promotion.
Met my best friends new puppy, Puck. Started a new pretty collection.

Made a much needed trip to the hair salon [went dark for fall+winter]. Picked up a few pretty studs perfect for the holidays.
Admired a beautiful chapel and spent time with some of my favorite girls at a very special wedding.

Spent a rainy Sunday inside watching the Labor Day Fireworks [a Cincinnati tradition].

Admired my favorite place as kid through my parents kitchen window: the playhouse my grandfather built.

Hello lovelies, happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I soaked up every second of the gorgeous [fall-like] weather here in Cincinnati. Which left me extremely excited for fall. Each day started and ended on our front porch and the days were filled with friends, sunshine, good food and a few fun events. One thing I did realize this weekend was that it's been quite sometime since I've posted a life update!
So here's a peek into what I've been up to lately:

Spoiling myself with a few new coffee table books, a gorgeous new bauble, and a much needed pedicure in a fall inspired shade.

What Happens In Vegas ...

 As promised, here's a peek into my weekend in Las Vegas ...

 

The first night in town consisted of a huge reunion, celebratory drinks, karaoke, and of course bull riding.

The day of the wedding the groomsmen had a little surprise for Megan + Jason ... tuxedo t-shirts and tattoos.

I admit most people would not find this humorous; however, this was right up the bride and grooms alley since Jason had worn a tuxedo t-shirt when his mom was remarried in Vegas.

Following the ceremony was the reception which was held at Planet Hollywood. 

We later discovered the best man was given the ugliest rose. 

I found the bride gambling late night with some bling on her pumps.  

And my best friend and I had a third wheel during our picture.

How was your long weekend?

Mine was super relaxing + filled with friends and family.

Friday was spent by the pool with all my best friends from childhood.

Saturday it was off to Columbus to celebrate my grandma's 90th birthday.

Sunday and Monday were pool days.

Overall a great {much needed} weekend.

Life.

I first want to say thank you all for being so patient with me while I've been away from ES.
{a little longer than expected}

I can tell you the break was very productive and I am officially in the new house.
I can't begin to explain how excited I am to now have roommates.
Especially when they are two of my best girl friends.
I have to admit: I haven't unpacked a thing!
Can you guess what I'll be doing for the next couple of days?
But since I've been away for so long I thought I'd share a few snippets of my life as of lately.
And I promise to post pictures once the room is complete!
