Luckily the sun decided to show it's face today which has me feeling happy and ready to bust out some fun sunnies!

Happy weekend, friends!

I'll be spending the next few days with two lovely ladies: my roommates mom is flying in for the weekend and my mom's birthday is Sunday. Which of course means a yummy meal! I already have my dishes picked out. I'd love to share but I can't since it's still a surprise (mom pops in). Today is an extremely busy day and my mind is all over the place.

So I'm just popping in to share this gorgeous shot.

I'm currently wishing for a roaring fire due to the fact our heat went out last night!

My nightly routine consists of coming home, going upstairs and immediately turning on my little space heater.

My bedroom happens to be my favorite place in the house but since we live in an old house it tends to get a little chilly!

Because of this I didn't initially realize the heat wasn't working. After about ten minutes upstairs I heard my roommate yell for me.

Sure enough, it said the heat was on, but there was no warm air anywhere. Oh, and it said it was 54 degrees inside.

We are hoping to have it looked at and fixed today because I'm not sure I could handle another morning of 50 degrees!

But enough about me. What about you?

Happy Friday, everyone! You know that that means, it's officially the weekend! I for one am thrilled and it's mostly because once again Cincinnati will be seeing some beautiful weather. Which means I'll be soaking up as much as the sunshine and cooler temps as possible. And hopefully completing a few projects.

Something Pretty

 It's Wednesday, which means we are half way through the week! Although for me it feels like it has taken forever to get here. I'm not sure if it's the lack of sleep from staying up late to watch the Olympics or if it's just being completely ready for the weekend but this week sure is moving slow! Any one else feeling that way?

I was on Pinterest last night looking for inspiration+guidance for the curtains in my bedroom [more on that tomorrow] when I stumbled upon this and um, hello! From the whimsical feel to the insanely beautiful mix of colors I'm completely in love. I want to be wherever this is taking place because not only are there delicious treats but I'm dying over the amazing ceiling poufs. Like, obsessed, I want them in my bedroom.
So for the rest of the day I'll be pretending I'm hanging out in this pretty space and not at work.

Summer, It's Here!

Today is the first official day of summer. [YAY!] And although the warm + sunny days we've been having would make you believe summer has already stopped in and said hello, I couldn't be more excited! I've unpacked all my dresses + fun flirty tops and am ready to show them off.

Design Dilemma: Small Closet

With the move coming in a week, the rooms have finally been determined.

I will happily be moving into a dark teal room with all white trim and a gorgeous fireplace+mantel.

The one negative: small closet.

While I could find a beautiful wardrobe I'm loving the look of a few fun items being displayed on a clothing rack.

With a game plan in motion the images below served as major inspiration.

After browsing online I found that most store bought racks are sadly not as fun+unique as the racks above.

After some  searching on Pinterest I found two amazing industrial style DIY racks.

With the help of my best guy friend [who happens to be an engineer] I will be building my very own clothing rack!

This might be the project I'm most excited for!

Twinkling Stars

Having grown up in the suburbs I've always loved looking up to find a star filled sky.
Now living in the city I find the lights overpower the beauty of a perfectly clear, starry night.
Since being back from my grandmothers home where you won't find a light for miles I find myself wishing the bright city lights would disappear.
Since that won't happen I believe a weekend at my parents will be in my future.
What could be better than a bonfire+wine+s'mores all under a beautiful sky!

Perfect for a Picnic

With the weather being warm sunny + beautiful as of late it leaves me itching to grab some friends, find a park and have a picnic.

Not to mention I have the perfect picnic basket anxiously waiting to be used!

Can It

I stumbled upon this image while browsing Pinterest and instantly fell in love. 

From the crisp white to the pops of color.

One thing that stood out were the fun canisters on the counter.

I love canisters. 

They happen to be one of my favorite things to look for while at an antique mall or thrift store.

They can add that perfect amount of fun to any kitchen and can be found in all kinds of color patterns and material.

Although I already have a set for my kitchen these are a few {all found on Etsy!} I wouldn't mind owning:

Hi Friends!

I feel like it has been so long! 

Sorry for my serious case of MIA!

Turns out trying to cover your own work and some one else's while they are on maternity leave takes a toll!

But now that I'm all caught up and fully rested I wanted to share a current obsession of mine:

TRAYS

I have quite a few in my house, each different from the next.

I'm very lucky to have a tray my great-grandfather built using old skids.

Although its original use was as a carrier at the strawberry patch he owned - perfectly fitting 6 little cartons - I've found other uses for it {so has my mother as we have a few}.

Trays are the perfect accessory to any home and add that little touch you just can't get with anything else.
